I’ve had tons of luck finding Ibanez Prestige Guitars lately at Ibanez Guitars. Especially this guy right here, the top of line Ibanez RG2550E. This is basically the cadillac of guitars, The Ibanez RG Prestige. Made with top of line materials and wood, you won’t find a better guitar on the planet. Seriously, once you pick up any of the Prestige guitars you will never go back to your boring old Gibson SG again, I promise. Do yourserlf a fover and try one of the guys out immediately.
The Ibanez RG550MMX is Ibanez’s 20th Anniversary guitar. This thing is a monster. To get a quick overview check out this video featuring world famous Paul Gilbert.
Alright put the kids to bed and get your metal ears cranked to 11 because this guitar is so f*cking metal even we can’t handle it! Ibanez announced at last year’s NAMM show their brand new 8 STRING GUITAR. That’s right for all you non-mathematicians out there, there 2 strings more than your cute little 6 string Les Paul, and for those of you who think you’re the kings of heavy, that’s even 1 mroe string than your heavier than thou 7 string RG. Sorry to burst your metal bubble, but you have now been out metaled, so you can go back to playing with your cabbage patch kids now.

And just what does a monster like this thing sound like? Stop wondering because you’re about to get you ass handed to you.
Continuing our Ibanez saga, where Ibanez had landed themselves into a little bit of trouble with the law. Well everything blew over pretty quickly, luckily enough for them because that’s about them time that they introduced their Iceman and Roadstar (which was their verison of the popular Fender strat). These two models single handedly blew up the Ibanez name in the international instrument crafting community. Overnight (well, not really but it seemed like it), Ibanez became a household name for quality instruments that played well and looked nice whether just i nthe living room or on stage at Madison Square Garden.
Steve Vai was the next big thing to come into the Ibanez picture, endorsing the company and creating his own signature models called the JEM and the Universe. This of course only fueled Ibanez’s popularity, really makign the name explode by this time. Following the introduction of the Steve Vai guitars, Ibanez went full on balls to the wall with their guitars, introducing what would becoem some of their most popular models, including the RG (updated version of the Roadstar which was originally Ibanez’s superstrat), the S Series (one of the most lightweight and slim guitars on the market), and the high end Prestige guitars that grace so many of the stages in large music venues today.
Take a little time out now and check out this sweet Protest the Hero video. We’ll be back with more Ibanez info soon. Shred on!
Ibanez started in 1908 as a sales divison. It didn’t start making guitars until the lat 1920’s, when they began selling Salvador Ibanez guitars (hence the name Ibanez). Modern electric guitars started being made by Ibanez in the late 1950’s when copying popular Europena guitar styles was all the rage in Japan. So naturally, Ibanez followed suit and made some pretty sweet Gibson and Fender copies. This of course landed them in a bit of legal trouble. Stay tuned for Part 2 of this story soon!
